Beauty and Face Lift Cosmetic Surgery part 3

Face Lift Scars

You will have a scar right round each ear. The scar behind your ear and its continuation across part of the scalp will be hidden by hair (except in the case of a man who becomes totally bald). The scar in front of the ear will be visible but usually it is faint and doesn’t shriek its presence. However, scars can widen and drop unpredictably and sometimes a hairstyle which covered them at first ceases to cover them later. If an incision is made under your chin to remove neck fat, a small scar will show here. (more…)

Face Lift for who is appropriate

The best results are achieved when a face lift is done earlier rather than later. Although face lifts are usually not sought till the mid-50s or early 60s, a face lift carried out in the 40s may prevent some of the more distressing signs of facial ageing, such as hanging folds of skin around the neck, which develop later and which sometimes can’t be corrected well. Both men and women can have face lifts but the results are usually better in women. (more…)

Beauty and Face Lift Cosmetic Surgery part 1

When we are young, our facial skin is soft and elastic. It stretches when we smile, laugh, yawn, frown, etc and then springs back into its original place. The smooth, firm appearance of the young face is caused by the thin layer of fatty tissue beneath the skin. Beneath the fatty layer lies muscle and it is this that enables us to make our facial expressions. The largest muscle is the platysma muscle, which extends from the jaw into the neck, defines the angle of the chin and differentiates it from the neck. (more…)

Wrinkles and Facial Scars Cosmetic Surgery Scars

Ideally chemical face peels and dermabrasion should not leave scars. However, if an area is burned too deeply with the chemical or dermabrasion is too deep, lumpy and angry red scarring can result. This may or may not fade in time — sometimes it is permanent.

All injections leave tiny puncture marks, so this will occur after collagen implants. Normally they are virtually invisible. They might show up as white dots, however, if you have very dark skin, but the procedure isn’t really advisable for dark-skinned people anyway. (more…)

Wrinkles and Facial Scars Cosmetic Surgery, what needs to be done?

A chemical face peel is an unpleasant-sounding procedure and unpleasant to experience too. It is usually carried out under sedation and takes about an hour if the whole of your face is being done. The surgeon first carefully cleans your face, then applies a strong chemical solution to all the areas where you want wrinkling removed. This stings, strongly but briefly. Then the treated areas are covered with layers of adhesive tape and you can go home.

Dermabrasion is a one-step procedure, which can be carried out under local or general anaesthetic and takes about an hour. A small rotating wire brush or metal wheel is used to smooth the rough areas you are having treated. (more…)

Besides wrinkles, which come to us all, many people may have their faces marred by rough scars, of diverse origin, or permanently marked as a result of acne or chickenpox. There are three treatments which may correct some or all of these problems, depending upon their extent. They are — chemical face peel, dermabrasion, and collagen implants. (more…)

Nourishing and Moisturizing Skin care Essential Oils tips

October 16, 2008 By: arlene Category: Anti Wrinkle, Beauty, Cosmetic, Skin, Skin Care 3 Comments →

Essential oils are absorbed through the skin and penetrate its deepest layers. The main property of all essential oils is that they are highly antiseptic, though at different degrees, depending on the essence chosen. They help speed up the removal of old skin cells and thus encourage the production of new cells.

Essential oils help muscles to regain a healthy condition and aid the soft tissue to get rid of excess fluid and waste materials or, if required, to restore lost hydration. They also act as blood regulators, improving the blood circulation. With the help of pressure points on nerve centres, the essential oils help to regulate the nervous system, making it more alert to impulses and quicker to react. (more…)

Brow Lift Cosmetic Surgery, Pain and Recovery

You might have a throbbing headache for a day or two but otherwise little pain. Your head will be bandaged for two or three days, after which you can gently wash your hair, which will probably feel matted after the surgery. Stitches are removed about ten days after the operation, unless they are the dissolving kind. (more…)

Brow Lift Cosmetic Surgery for Frown Lines and Furrows

In the course of ageing, we all develop frown lines and furrows on the forehead but for some of us they are more prominent than for others, depending on the kind of skin we have, how much we frown and, also, inherited conditions which can make these lines appear relatively earlier in life.

Most people who consider cosmetic surgery because of an unacceptable, to them, degree of ageing of the face are disappointed to find that a face lift, which sounds so all- encompassing, does not touch these lines at all. Face lift surgery concentrates on the lower face and neck only. (more…)

Cosmetic Surgery for the Chin and Aesthetical Benefit

October 13, 2008 By: arlene Category: Beauty, Botanical Beauty, Cosmetic, Cosmetic Surgery, Medi Spa, Scar, Skin Care, Skin Treatment 3 Comments →

A jutting or receding chin often causes grief to its owner but, whereas a great many people seek cosmetic surgery for noses, far fewer even know that anything can be done to the chin. Sometimes, in fact, it is the shape of the chin that throws an otherwise innocuous nose into undue prominence and a surgeon may suggest correction of the former rather than the latter. In a few cases, however, surgery for both the chin and the nose may be aesthetically beneficial.

The chin is, of course, part of the jaw but surgery for the chin is a different matter entirely from surgery for the entire jaw. The latter is a major procedure in which usually the teeth need realignment too because deformities of the jaw affect bite. Such surgery is not carried out by cosmetic surgeons but by oral and maxillofacial surgeons, working together with orthodontists. Chin surgery is concerned only with the small part of the jaw that sticks out under your mouth but it is not undertaken by all cosmetic surgeons. Ask for guidance from your general practitioner. Aging weakest Vital link, how to Rebuild New Cells with Reflexology

October 12, 2008 By: arlene Category: Anti-Aging, Skin Care 2 Comments →

Life, the biological chain that holds our parts together, is only as strong as its weakest vital link..

You are as young or as old as your smallest vital links—the cells. The aging begins when your normal process of cell regeneration and rebuilding slows down. This slowdown is caused mainly by the accumulation of waste products in the tissues, which interferes with the nourishment of the cells. Each living cell is a complete living entity with its own metabolism. It needs a constant supply of oxygen and sufficient nourishment. (more…)

Beauty and Skincare, what this Aging means to your Skin

October 09, 2008 By: arlene Category: Anti Wrinkle, Anti-Aging, Hair Care, Scar, Spot 3 Comments →

With intrinsic biological aging, the skin’s outer layer is thinned (over time by about 20 percent). The surface of the skin remains smooth. The border between the epidermis and the dermis becomes flattened, making the skin less resistant to friction (you get more blisters in snug shoes!). In contrast, extrinsic photoaging causes a thickening of the outer skin layer, with up to 50 percent more cells being accumulated onto the skin’s surface, making it feel rough and dry. Think of the grainy, thickened skin on the backs of the hands of a gardener, for example. With photoaging, accumulation of pigment in the basal cells is more markedly irregular than in intrinsic aging, causing the so-calledliver spots” or “age spots” (medically called solar lentigos), the unattractive dark spots especially prevalent on the hands, arms, face and chest. The Tanning Myth

October 09, 2008 By: arlene Category: Anti-Aging, Fashion, Skin, USA 2 Comments →

When and why did tanning become popular? In the last century, a tan was definitely not considered to be “chic”: only laborers, farmers, and fishermen who worked long hours outdoors had tans. Women of the “upper classes” took particular pride in their porcelain-white, unspotted skins, protecting themselves from the sun with parasols, gloves, and large hats. Female beauty was measured by the translucence and smoothness of the skin. (more…)

Solar radiation —”the ultra-V three”

October 07, 2008 By: arlene Category: Anti Wrinkle, Anti-Aging, Skin Bleaching, Skin Botanica, Skin Care, Skin Treatment 2 Comments →

Sunlight is electromagnetic radiation, which is similar to X-rays but of lower energy. The sun’s energy reaching the earth’s surface can be broadly subdivided into 1) infrared (the lowest energy that can be felt as heat); 2) visible light; and 3) ultraviolet (the highest energy that affects the skin). The ultraviolet spectrum is, in turn, divided into three bands — the “ultra-V three” — each of which causes a different, specific, and most unwelcome effect. (more…)

Dangers of Sun Exposure

October 07, 2008 By: arlene Category: Anti Wrinkle, Anti-Aging, Beauty, Medi Spa, Skin Bleaching, Skin Care 2 Comments →

It is truly more dangerous now than even a few years ago to expose yourself to the sun! Scientists have noted a substantial decrease in the ozone layer above the earth’s atmosphere. This is the layer that acts as a protective filter to save us from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays.

Measurements in the late fall, winter, and early spring showed a reduction of 5 percent as opposed to the previous decade. Calibrations initially focused on the seasonal “hole” in the ozone layer, (more…)

Ageing or Growing old?

October 05, 2008 By: arlene Category: Anti-Aging, Healthcare, Skin Care, UK, USA 2 Comments →

In common with all other life forms, the human body goes through a natural cycle of decay. This normal deterioration is inevitable, but need not necessarily be uncomfortable. Discomfort and a poor quality of life mean that ageing is taking place too quickly. Ageing is a process; being old is a sentence. The ageing process should be like of brandy: the better the ageing process is managed, the better the end product. (more…)

Ear Cosmetic Surgery Scars

The scar will be about three inches in length but it will be hidden by the crease of the ear.

Ear Cosmetic Surgery Problems

Infection is not common but it is vital to call a doctor at the very first signs — increased rather than decreased reddening, swelling and aching of the ear after the first few days — because infection that is not treated quickly can lead to permanent damage to the cartilage of the ear and a misshapen appearance possibly worse than the one that has been corrected. Infection is a higher risk if the ear has been seriously injured prior to surgery. (more…)
