So you’ve gotten your cholesterol measured, and you need to bring it down. Here are some of the best cholesterol-cutting measures you can take.
Cut meat intake. Most Americans get 13 percent of their total calories from saturated fat. Cardiologists would like to see that figure drop to about 7 percent. Therefore, the foods that drive up your blood cholesterol numbers most are red meats, the skin of poultry, whole dairy products and eggs. Fish, especially the white-fleshed ones, tend to be low in saturated fat. (more…)

Many of the bacteria in food are benign. They turn milk into yoghurt or cheese. But a number of bacteria are also the main cause of food-borne illness. Outbreaks of food poisoning are not limited to consumption of undercooked burgers and chicken. Read a dozen articles on the subject of cellulite and each one seems to give a different explanation, including total denial that such a condition exists. But look around any beach and, unless most of the women are young, sleek and super-fit, you’ll see some degree of puckered, quilted flesh on their thighs and whatever part of their buttocks that is visible. Men can be old, unfit and overweight and yet most of them miss out on this problem. (more…)

True aromatherapy is a total treatment of the face and body via the skin. It alleviates many health troubles such as insomnia, toxic retention, tension, and menstrual and menopausal problems, and helps your body to achieve a healthy, natural balance. Animal bodies, like ours, are made up of two basic components – lean body mass (LBM), which encompasses our muscle tissue, and fat. Lean body mass consists of organs like the heart, the liver, the pancreas, bones and skin, as well as muscle. It is your LBM that burns oxygen, uses nutrients from your food, thinks and feels, moves, grows and repairs itself. A high percentage of LBM is what gives wild animals their power, ease of movement, stamina and sleek bodies. The rest of you is fat. (more…)
