I remembered in the high school I was used to be very weak. I mean physically weak. My parents worried me a lot especially my study. They were pretty upset that my brain might be under developed. I was a hard studying student always being a favorite to my teachers. I was struggling with my study, but I was struggling with my own pressure, to press myself to take more and more studying work. Compared the same age teenagers, I experience a lot of headaches. I mean the real pain in my head. My parents have tried a lot of nutrition on me. It didn’t work. Discarded Health Issues, Swelling Edema

January 09, 2009 By: arlene Category: Body Care, Clinic, Eye Care, Health, health supplement 5 Comments →

I had the worst experience of some sort eye disease. Monday I found some white spots rising from my eyelashes. On the bottom of these white spots, my skin gradually became redder and redder.

Wednesday morning, when I woke up, I almost couldn’t open my eye. It looked terrible, my eye looked like a mashed berry. When I rushed to bathroom, tried to refresh my eye, the horrible things happened. All these big and red spots started swelling; suddenly my eye is full of pain.

I flied to see my doctor right away. Friday I still hang at house, I already had two days sick leave. I just can’t wait to work.

Later my companion came for a visit. I haven’t known she had been suffering this sickness for years. She told me that once these little spots came on my eyes. They wouldn’t just been healed. Even for months, it could happen again and again. Was that terrible? (more…)

GLA

The amount of GLA required to have this effect is quite high. I recommend 200-300mg GLA per day, reducing to 150mg after three months if inflammation reduces and symptoms stay stable. Only 9-10 per cent of the oil in evening primrose oil is GLA so that means you need to take 3000mg of evening primrose oil, or six 500mg capsules per day. Borage oil contains a higher proportion of GLA and you can get single capsules which provide 250mg of GLA. One of these a day is an essential part of an anti-inflammatory strategy. Supplementing GLA has been shown to be more effective when the co-factor vitamins and minerals (vitamin B6, zinc, B3 and vitamin C) are also supplied. (more…)

Supplements for Super and Natural Health: Natural Pain-Killers and Anti-inflammatory part 1

Many disease processes involve inflammation, often characterised by swelling, redness, pain and heat.

These include all the `itis’ diseases — arthritis, dermatitis, colitis, nephritis and hepatitis, as well as asthma and others not often associated with inflammation, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s in which parts of the brain become inflamed. Inflammation also lies at the root of atherosclerosis, the common cause of thrombosis, heart attacks and strokes. In addition, it is an underlying cause of irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, now suffered by eight million people in Britain. (more…)

Read

There are thousands of self-help books available that actually have some very good advice. While some of the advice may not apply to your situation, most books at least have one nugget of knowledge that can be useful. Visit your local bookstores and libraries, and read as much as you can. The internet also has useful information to offer although care must be exercised as some sources of information may not be reliable. If in doubt, one should check with one’s mental health provider concerning the validity of information obtained from the internet. Some people have a problem when they read self-help books. (more…)

Keep a Diary

Each day, confide in your diary. This is a way of expressing your feelings. You may not always have friends with you, but your diary can take the place of friends for the time being. Write freely about what most bothers you. Make a list of things you are most grateful for each day. Looking at the good side will help you to have a balanced view of yourself, the world and your future. If you have not made it a habit to keep a diary, start one today. It is therapeutic. (more…)

Express Your Feelings

Depressed feelings need to be expressed. Keeping a tight lid on one’s feelings will, in the long run, intensify the feelings and drive one to deeper levels of depression. If you have a friend or a confidant, speak to him candidly about how you feel. The tendency in depressed people is to withdraw from others and this adds to their sense of isolation. Loneliness is not good for depression. It can worsen depression. So resist the tendency to withdraw into your own world. (more…)

If I had an instant solution, and this would be much longer and full of stories about famous people — with glossy pictures where they are pictured as being as thin as a rake, wearing designer outfits and speaking about the joys of being almost invisible.

However, if I am of some use in helping you to see what is happening to you and what not to do, you will hopefully be able to help yourself. Insight remains the most important component of any slimming plan. (more…)

Genetic Risk and Breast Cancer part 3

October 03, 2008 By: arlene Category: Body Care, Depression, Health, Healthcare, Medi Spa, Stress Reducing, health supplement 6 Comments →

Women with newly diagnosed breast cancer are concerned about any possible risk to their daughters and sisters. If a woman does not appear to be in a family that has breast cancer in approximately half the women on one side, then she probably does not have either the BRCA-1 or BRCA-2 gene. Gene positivity is associated with bilateral breast cancer, ovarian and breast cancer in the same family, and Ashkenazic Jewish ancestry. Women who are gene positive tend to develop breast cancer at a younger age than women with non-hereditary breast cancer. (more…)

Genetic Risk and Breast Cancer part 2

Scientists have also discovered the next defective gene to contribute to an increase in breast cancer susceptibility, which they naturally called BRCA-2. The incidence of BRCA-2 appears to be slightly less than BRCA-1. BRCA-2 is autosomal dominant also and resides on the thirteenth chromosome. Initially, it was believed that the presence of the BRCA-2 gene defect did not appear to increase risk for ovarian cancer. (more…)

Genetic Risk and Breast Cancer part 1

All cancer is genetic. That is to say, that in order for a normal cell to convert to a cancerous cell, a genetic mishap must occur. These genetic mishaps, or mutations, occur quite frequently and are usually of little consequence unless the event occurs at a critical location on one of the chromosomes. A single mutation does not lead to a cancer. Cancer results from two to three separate events over time. (more…)

After Medical Treatment, Copying Fear of Recurrence

October 03, 2008 By: arlene Category: Clinic, Depression, Drug, Happiness, Health, Medi Spa, Nutrition, Women, health supplement 7 Comments →

However, if your cancer treatment is completed and you feel an unexplainable anxiety even though your trials are apparently over, read on.

These feelings are common and occur, in part, because the end has come to the frequent visits with your various doctors, which can serve to comfort—giving you the tangible evidence that someone is watching over you and your health. But, aside from that, you may be struggling with the fear of recurrence that many women experience at this time. Remember, during the treatment planning process, you want to develop a plan to optimize your chance of cure and to carry out that plan. When done, it is time for you to go on with your life. (more…)

Hormone Replacement therapy after Breast Cancer continue…

September 25, 2008 By: arlene Category: Clinic, Depression, Drug, Health, UK, USA, health supplement 6 Comments →

I have only roundabout evidence regarding HRT in breast cancer survivors. For example, we know that younger women who have had breast cancer and then go on to become pregnant, with the associated high levels of estrogen and progesterone, do not have a worse prognosis or earlier relapse of breast cancer than women who do not experience a pregnancy. If estrogen can theoretically stimulate breast cancer growth, why do I see breast cancer appear in older postmenopausal women who are not on HRT? This is a fairly frequent occurrence, and most of these cancers are hormone receptor positive, yet they are growing in an estrogen-poor environment. This seems to counter what we know about the environment that is conducive to breast cancer, but this is just another reminder of how much we do not understand about this disease. (more…)

September 25, 2008 By: arlene Category: Drug, Happiness, Health, Women, health supplement 7 Comments →

I suggest you adopt an organized approach to collecting your medical information from the time you are diagnosed with breast cancer. Purchase a three-ring binder with dividers, and create the following categories:

This section includes such personal information as your insurance policy number and the address and phone number of your insurance company, your date of birth and social security number as well as those of your spouse, work phone numbers, people to call in an emergency and their numbers, baby-sitters, and anyone whose phone numbers and addresses you may need in a pinch.
