EAU DE COLOGNE DIY
The fragrance of eau de Cologne is light and refreshing, perfect for an after-bath splash. Alternatively you could keep it in an aerosol bottle in the fridge during hot weather to use as a scented cooling spray.
- 100 m1/4 fl oz/7 tbsp vodka
- funnel, sterilized
- glass jar with stopper, sterilized
- 20 drops orange essential oil
- 10 drops bergamot essential oil
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 2 drops rosemary essential oil
- 50 m1/2 fl oz distilled water
- 5 m1/1 tsp fixative tincture
- unbleached paper coffee filters
- decorative bottle or jar
1 Measure the vodka into the sterile jar.
2 Add the essential oils. Replace the stopper, gently shake to mix and leave to stand for 48 hours. Add the water and fixative tincture. Replace the stopper, shake and leave to stand for one week.
3 Shake the bottle and then strain through a series of filter papers, until the cologne is clear and sparkling. Store in a decorative bottle or jar, ensuring that the lid seals well.
