The Fabulous Five Face Savers
To avoid and correct a double chin
Lie on your back on a bed, shoulders and neck supported by the bed with your head just over the edge so it falls backwards. Relax completely. Now slowly raise head, chin first until your chin touches your chest to a count of five. Slowly lower again to the same count until you’re back to the completely relaxed position. Repeat five times.
To stimulate circulation and tighten muscles all over the face
Standing in front of a mirror, open your eyes and mouth as far as you can as though you were silently screaming … really pulling all of the muscles in your face tight and taut, to a slow count of five. Now let go, relaxing the whole face slowly. Repeat three times.
To firm mouth and jaw area
Open your mouth as wide as possible and tossyour head back. Now open and close your mouth a dozen times by moving the lower jaw.
To ease scowl lines
Place the palm of one hand flat and firm against the centre of your forehead covering the area between the eyes. Put your elbow against a firm surface such as a desk or table to give support to the hand. Pressing down with your head against your hand so the skin is held firm, ’scowl’, pulling your forehead muscles in hard to a slow count of three.
Now to the same slow count of three relax them completely. Repeat five times.
Wear a piece of clear tape or adhesive tape over the scowl area when you’re at home alone. It will help to iron out lines and make you aware of the unconscious muscle action that put them there in the first place.
For cheeks and eyes
Placing the palms of your hands firmly against your upper cheeks and temples on either side of your face (elbows sticking out at right angles to the head) press in while you ’smile up’ crinkling your eyes and drawing the corners of the mouth and cheeks upward to a count of three. Now relax the position to the same count of three.
