Harmonious Home Scent Vibrations
Aroma is not only a physical force but a spiritual one. Our aura, which is the electromagnetic force field surrounding all living things, comprises color, sound and aroma. Many different religions realize the significance of odor as reflecting either harmonious or inharmonious vibrations.
A good deal of attention has been focused in recent years on the color vibrations in the aura, although our electromagnetic field is also made up of sounds and aromas. In fact, our sense of smell is the last of our outer senses to be developed, and we need to recapture the auric smell we have lost. It has always been reported that great masters and saints are surrounded by an exquisite scent, while many people have experienced the bad odors permeating people and places where there are bad vibrations.
Bad aromas have often been associated with bad vibrations and psychic forces, which can be found lingering in buildings. Sightings of ghosts and ghostly phenomena are often accompanied by reports of bad odors. Incense made from the resins and barks of various trees such as frankincense, myrrh and sandalwood have been used for centuries to purify the air of any harmful vibrations. Indigenous North Americans used to burn sage in a ceremony known as smudging to purify the mind and body as well as the subtle environment.
When you move into a new home, it is wise to cleanse the air of any lingering bad vibrations by burning some aromatic oils or incense sticks. You could also light a candle which has been scented with lavender or juniper oil.
Here are some ways in which you can make sure that the aromas you use on yourself and in your home are in tune with your own vibrations. Additional recipes are provided in the boxes to the left and right.
Entrance porch or hall
The aroma in your entrance hall will have a special signature as this is where the aromas from all parts of your home mingle. The Japanese place great importance on the vibrations in the entrance hall. This is where you will arrive when you return home and where your visitors will be received. So this area should be a welcoming place where you can spend a few minutes orientating yourself from the outside environment as you move to the one inside.
A few drops of essential oil sprinkled on a doormat gives a special welcome. Bright fresh aromas of citrus oils, like lime, orange, neroli, pettigraine, lemon and bergamot are especially good oils for a hallway. The aromas of these oils are long-lasting and so you can spray the entrance hall and particularly any carpeting in this area with a water spray every day. Often hallways have no windows and so smells can linger there and spread up stairways.
Add more lavender for the morning, and then more geranium in the afternoon when you want to create a more relaxed and calming atmosphere.
Living rooms
The living room is the main area which collects many different aromas, both from the furnishings and from people. These conflicting scents create a whirlpool or vibrations, each one clashing with another. Aromas in the living room come from chemicals in furniture polish, window cleaners, upholstery and carpet fabrics and from vibrations emitted from people’s clothes, as well as their auric scents. To create a harmonious environment where your family and friends can relax and enjoy themselves you need to cleanse these conflicting aromas and instill a new and coordinated mix of scents.
Use essential oils as dynamic fragrances to create different atmospheres in your home. A pottery burner is an economic way to give a subtle aroma and to refresh a room. You can also use a professional diffuser that ionizes the particles it gives off.
If you have an open fireplace, a few drops of essential oil on a log gives off the most positive aromatic vibrations. If you have access to fresh scented herbs like rosemary, lavender or thyme, throw some sprigs onto a coal or charcoal fire. In some places you may be able to obtain wood which has its own scent. Pine or olive branches give off healing and uplifting vibrations as they burn. You can also burn aromatic herbs and branches on a barbecue or in a pizza or bread oven.
