If you get a sudden bang to the top of your nose, swelling will ensue which may, if you are unlucky, develop into a permanent lump or bump. It really is worth protecting your nose very diligently for the first six months after your operation.

Do not expect to love your new nose instantly. You may but you may not. If not, it may be because you thought more would be done to change you. Wait until all the swelling has gone down before you decide whether you are disappointed or not. If any irregularities do become apparent, occasionally a second operation may be necessary one or two years after the first. On the other hand, the changes may be more significant than you had actually realised and, although they are what you thought you wanted, your entire face could look alien to you for a while. However pleasant the surprise should be, your nose improvement may in fact be a shock at first. You may need to adjust to it slowly. But if, for whatever reason, you really are convinced you do not like your new nose, do not rush at have a second stab at surgery till at least six months have passed after the first. Your nose needs that much time to get over its trauma.
